As
I went through a post on Facebook about the cheapest way to miss a flight, something
struck my heart, Rapture! We all are waiting for a great day of departure from Earth,
either by death or by the Christian belief of rapture. (Rapture, a fraction of a
second sudden disappearance of those who have lived their life for Jesus Christ
and are spiritually listening attentively for the sound of the trumpet to be blown
by the archangel).
I've
not taken a flight before but I've been at the departure lounge and watched people
listen attentively for their flight company's announcement of its departure and
I noticed how the people who booked the flights were not always seated at ease but
at the edge of their seats in readiness for their flight. In the midst of these
people there are some that don't even pay a single attention to the announcements
made via the PA system, they walk from here to there and behave as though the flight
would wait for them if they happened to miss the announcement. There is another
category of people I almost forgot, yeah, the late comers- they come in exactly
when the flight has departed. Definitely, you'll have to pay for a missed flight
even if you want to use same flight details later.
In
the same vein, those of us that are Christians are like those at the airport, the
only difference is that we are being spiritual. We've always heard it in sermons
on TV, radio and on the street, "the rapture will soon take place, repent now!"
So much has it been ringed in the ears of many that the world in general see preachers
as noise makers when it comes to this vital issue. But this is the most important
part of the Christian faith. Paul says, "if only in this life we have hope in Christ,
we are of all men most miserable." meaning, not just believing in Him
here in earth but believing in Him in the afterlife. To a point while he preached
he said, "let those who have wives be as though they had none and those that
weep as though they weep not, and those who own things be as though they had nothing
cos' everything was passing away." (1Cor. 7:29-32). Jesus in his sermons
made mention of the rapture (the second coming of Christ); "many would be distracted with
marriage, feasts of all sorts, laddened with the cares of this life and would be
oblivious to the signs everywhere. Then would the Son of Man sneak up on them and
take them by surprise." (Matt. 24:37-39).
Paul
the Apostle gave a clear picture of how rapid the flight would be; "In
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump..." (1Cor.
15:52). So fast would it be that in a blink of an eye, the flight has taken place.
How fast is a blink?
"A
real blink of an eye takes 300 to 400 milliseconds. Since there's 1000
milliseconds in each second, a blink of an eye takes around 1/3 of a second.
Compared to the time span of one full second, a blink of an eye is an
eternity."
Now,
how fast is that? Jesus gave us a backlog of examples of how that they would be
using hands-on examples. A few of them are highlighted below:
The
Labourers - Matt. 20:1-16
The
Reaper - Matt. 21:33-40
The
Event - Matt. 22:1-14The Signs to the Event - Matt. 24:4-44
The People - Matt. 25:1-13
The Rejected - Matt. 25: 14-30
The Qualifications - Matt. 25:31-46.
All
seven mentioned above are clear indicators to the Master's perfect outline of the
events and the solutions. And after all He concluded by saying, "What I say to you I say to all,
'Watch'! (Mark 13:37)
The
flight, Boeing Eternity 1 is steaming
it's engines and the flight attendants (Angels)
are hands on; getting the plane ready, the Pilot (Jesus) is getting final briefings from the Company management (God the Father), the tickets are available
now at designated offices (the various Bible
Believing Churches) but the earlier the better, the sales representatives (Pastors, Evangelist, Ministers, etc.) are
busy placing adverts here and there. Don't say "I didn't hear or see the
adverts". Don't be too busy to buy your tickets now. It's still much
available (THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO WASH
YOUR SINS AND HIS GRACE). Limited seats available. There will be no test flights.
IT'S A ONCE IN A LIFETIME AND ONE-WAY
TICKET FLIGHT (by death or rapture). If you miss it, there's no other flight
coming back to pick you and you won't renew the ticket except by your blood which
will be very difficult to do.
Rush
now and book your tickets (Luke 13:24). Terms
and Conditions apply.
