PRAYING FOR GOOD LEADERSHIP

"When good people run things, everyone is glad, but when the ruler is bad, everyone groans"- Proverbs 29:2 (MSG).

               Africa's problems and realities are due to lack of leadership- Sanders wrote and I quote "Real leaders are in short supply; constantly, people and groups search for them. . ." The search for leaders
has been there from time immemorial. God himself has also been seeking for men and women. (Isa. 6:8, John 4:23b)

     From our opening scripture it's evident that with good people as leaders the future is bright for everyone, and this is only achievable through voting in the right person and praying. Jesus says in John 16:23. . . “Verily verily, I say unto you whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you”, meaning you can just change about anything by asking the Father in Jesus' name, (prayer). So when interceding for our country, which we must do continuously, (1Tim. 2:1-3), there are certain areas we must focus on and have a clear goal in mind as we pray, one of such is our political process. It's our duty to pray for our politicians and also pray that elections be conducted in a manner that's void of rancor and manipulations with only the right candidates voted into different offices. We can ask the Father in the name of Jesus for free and fair elections in our fledgling Democracy, this is not hard, difficult or impossible for God to do. Where, by the influence of God's spirit, Nigerians will vote with a conscience, and their votes will count indeed. We can pray that our politicians and all those vying for political offices will be inspired and driven by the joy and dignity of service, and not by personal or inordinate ambitions. Hallelujah! I see this happening if we can only pray. . .

               Through earnest and fervent prayers, we can bring the fear of God and influence of righteousness to be upon our country and in the hearts of those responsible for the conducts of the elections, such that they'll be motivated to do what is right. We must have the attitude of praying until our country is established in righteousness and the touch of salvation blazes with unquenchable intensity, that way righteousness will rule men's heart, and no one will want to cheat, steal or kill to gain political power or recognition. Glory!

               Make it a point of duty to pray for peace throughout the federation to ensure the free and fair conduct of the polls. Psalms 122:6! Pray with authority against the activities of wicked and unreasonable men, who may be planning to instigate unrest and other activities that are inimical to the conduct of credible elections in our country. (Isa. 10:1-4, 7:7, 8:10). Pray  that only men and women that will function according to the will of God will be voted into political offices; that personalities with proven integrity, with the sole aim and objective to serve the country and improve the polity will win our votes.

      As we pray believing, we shall celebrate victories and good leadership, in Jesus name. Amen! Hallelujah!
