PERSEVERANCE

Pressing on towards whatever it is that you want to get done or achieve is known as perseverance. It is also a constant continual resilient attempt to get something. A dictionary puts the meaning thus: “continuing in a course of action without regard to discouragement, opposition or previous failure.” Of the 3 meanings above,
the last meaning encompasses what I aim to buttress with this topic. In life, nothing works for you except you make it work through focused hard-work. Note the phrase, ‘focused hard-work’. Somebody once said, “If success were by hard-work, those pushing wheel barrows would be the most successful.” That, my friend, is the truth. Back to our key phrase; everybody without exception wants a good life, we dream it, hope it and work towards it, but only a few get to actually “achieve it” or “live it”. Why? No PERSEVERANCE!
In Luke 18:1-8. From the story, the woman in question pressed hard on the man, a man who had no regards for God not to talk of a man, but for the mere fact that this woman just won’t budge in her request, he had to attend to her needs. You see, the problem is not that God isn’t answering, the problem is we aren’t pressing, we aren’t persevering! God said in Isa. 41:21; “produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob”. And John 16:24, “ask in my name, according to my will, and He’ll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!” (Message Bible)

I believe we know of an acronym that is used to describe PUSH, Pray Until Something Happens. You can only be fulfilled when you begin to constantly pray and work in line with the plans God and you have set for you. Is there a dream within your heart, a goal, a vision, and a purpose you want to achieve? Perseverance is all it takes. Don’t stop for once to think that the answers will not come or the dreams will never come to pass. God is working out a great deal of patience in you; press on. You must learn to have a FOCUS; this is the only thing that can sustain your perseverance. If the eagle has its aim for a fish as far as 2km from it, no matter what may try to distract it from its aim, it will never remove its eyes from that fish till it gets it. That is focus! What is it you need in life? PERSEVERE and FOCUS on it!
KTF!
